Colette comes from a family of renowned real estate investors in the Nashville, Tennessee area where she was born. After travelling around The United States, she decided to make her home in Miami, Florida. In 1983, she entered the film industry working as a Casting Director for the iconic TV show, “Miami Vice”, which began her 30 -year film career.
In 2013 it became apparent that her Father, a WWII and wounded Korean Vet, could no longer live on his own. This is when she chose to forego her film career, procured her Realtor license in Florida, so she could be his primary care giver. Mr. Hailey has been investing in property in the South Baldwin County area for over 25 years. Colette and he settled into his home in Orange Beach until his passing in 2017, when she decided to make Orange Beach her permanent home and procured her Alabama Real Estate license. Being dually licensed in Florida and Alabama gives her an added perspective since the two States are so close.
She has a stellar reputation in the South Florida Film Industry often referred to as one of the pioneers contributing to it’s success as one of the top filming location destinations in the country. Colette evolved in the Industry as a Location Manager and Producer for over 20 notable projects including “There’s Something About Mary”, Two James Bond films, “True Lies”, “Dolphin Tale”, “Transporter 2”, “Dexter, “CSI Miami”, “Charlie’s Angels” among many others. As a Location Manager, Colette’s responsibility was to work collaboratively with film directors to find the best location to shoot scenes. After they were chosen, she handled all logistics of filming on any given location. She attributes her production years as the reason for her success as a Realtor, noting that finding the right location for her clients’ needs is something she does best.
Colette attributes her success in the Real Estate Industry to her experience in the Film and Television Industry. “The two industries are really very synonymous in terms of attention to detail and producing results”, says Colette. To her, everyone is a star!
Colette is continuously learning, attending classes and webinars to stay up-to-date with market trends. In her spare time she practices Pilates, Yoga and takes her rescue Schnoodle, Delilah, to the dog park where she likes to mingle with the big dogs.
